Was just chatting with some colleagues at the office - one brought up the rumor that I had been looking to moonlight as an Uber driver here in Manchester. While I said that my wife had put the kibosh on the idea of using our leased, 2013 Jetta as an UberX car; I mentioned that once we sell our Mini and I'm driving something cheap and cheerful, I may try again.
Collectively, the lightbulb went off - why not start a car sharing service that focuses on the experience of riding in a weird old car instead of a boring late model car?

Because niche market and maintenance issues.

Why not sports car ubers for 1? Get picked up and dropped off from the bar in a 911 or Z4M Coupe or Uracco? Why not...

That's not a bad idea, actually. Like having a chauffeur, but instead of rolling out in a Rolls, you peel out in a Porsche!

Actually why not something that focuses on letting you drive the thing? Like a different wierd old car every week? Also, maintenance issues can suck my cold air intake box.
